They should do a spoof
Previously on EastEnders...
with a bunch of scenes that never happened, but all played absolutely straight, preferably ending with Pete Beale turning up in front of Ian and saying "Ello, son."

Yeah, Channel 4 is doing that with Hollyoaks, repeating the last week from before the hiatus on E4 this week. The last nine months of episodes (3 Sept 2019 to 16 June 2020) are on iPlayer though.

S4C also did it with Pobol y Cwm, re-broadcasting the final episode last night. They were much later than EastEnders returning to production according to their social accounts, but seem to be returning with all new episodes as early as next week according to twitter rumours - which is a very impressive turnaround if true!

Pobol has always had topical inserts (or "tropical insects" as the cast and crew apparently disparagingly call them according to the 40th anniversary documentry), so they've always been used to filming stuff close to transmission.
Does anyone know if EastEnders is going to be a mix of pre and post-lockdown filmed scenes like Corrie and Emmerdale were, or have they just decided to scrap any partially filmed episodes and started afresh?

EE will be entirely new episodes and all remaining scenes that were filmed have been scrapped as the EE bosses have decided to do a 3 month time jump so most of the scenes now won't be relevant
