The same Jim Daivdson that used to go down the line rating the Gen Game dancers out of 10. I work with someone who worked on GG (and very briefly went to school with one of his kids.) Not a nice man. Not a nice man at all.

You'd never get that happening on Strictly. Wink

Davidson is a horror, he attempted a character assassination of a leading local reporter last autumn, thankfully the reporter fired back with both barrels and won the argument. Providing people fawn to him he's ok, anything else grates with him rapidly and he sure lets the non-fawning individual and others know. He's best out of public consumption now.

EDIT - Relevant follow up article ...

Was Davidson always like that I wonder or did he get worse as he became more popular? As you’d think that kind of behaviour would hinder his career in the early stages.

This was in the 90s, but a quick view of a couple of Christmas tapes suggests that sort of behaviour was acceptable in the 80s, as the old song goes....

I'm assuming the ego was always there going by the story of a budding young actor being paid a bit of money to punch Jim in a scene where he was only supposed to pretend to punch him. I can't remember who the actor was, but ended up getting a lot of work despite Jim vowing he'd never get any work again. So the story goes, the reason he was persuaded to punch him in the first place was because he was such an egotistical c**t.

The actor was David Thewlis, who never worked in the industry again unless you count several very successful Hollywood movies, a couple of Harry Potter movies and more recently FX's Fargo, for which he was nominated for a Golden Globe.

I don't think you should be getting on you high horses over ego and unprofessionalism while you're all loving Clarkon hosting Millionare. a bloke who litterally punched someone for getting his dinner order wrong. There's also all sorts of horror stories about Noel Edmonds behaviour during his peak BBC days but you all love him too. It just screams hypocrisy. Rolling Eyes And don't come back with "yeah, but they have talent so can get away with it", you know that's boll***s.

Jeremy Clarkson reported himself after the producer involved wasn't going to. North Yorkshire Police didn't pursue any action. Clarkson apologised and paid a hefty settlement. The incident was hardly professional, but the way he handled it afterwards was.

Agreed. And we don't know the background such as his Cancer scare. The fact he shopped himself was very honourable. I'm not saying it was acceptable but compared to touching up women or kids, it needs some perspective.
