The interesting factor will be the loss from weekend two onward. Let see how many remain faithful to each show for their duration. The one thing Strictly Come Dancing has is that it has a loyal audience who stay with it from mid-September until mid-December. I wonder if this will apply to these shows?

The thing that baffles me about Dancing On Ice is that Todd Carty was voted off really quickly, given on Strictly John Sergeant was on for weeks and weeks.
But it seems to break all the rules of these kinds of shows - it's the most derivative programme ever made, it's on for too long, all the contestants are absolute nobodies, and all the funny contestants get voted off immediately - and yet it's a big hit. Not that I can ever watch it, because I'm so scared somebody will die.
I sat through a full Dancing On Ice episode for the first time ever because Gemma Collins was on it and they left her till the end predictably.
I definetely won't be doing that again. I'll just watch her bit on Youtube.

Interesting situation with Joe Sugg. The BBC wanted a safe YouTuber to bring in the demographic, after the celebrity Jungle business with Jack Maynard. He was as safe as they could get. Given he co-owns a management company looking after many YouTub floggers - sorry Vloggers, and has been completely media trained nothing could possibly go wrong - except his business partner Caspar Lee gets into a fight with one of the people they manage (and Lee lives with) over not flushing the loo (the Sun missed out on a 'Turdgate' headline there. Not to mention Suggs sister and a rather idiotic boyfriend release pointless books & advent calendars, no pun intended If you want the demographic I suppose you have to put up with the childish behavior.

To be fair - Joe Sugg only became a reality TV star by doing Strictly. His fame was more from YouTube and social media.

The one thing I like about this show is the do not pretend their results are live when they are not. No pre-recorded results as Strictly do, with spoilers leaking every week. All live in one night.

I don't think strictly actually pretend the Sunday shows are live. And I don't think any actually believes its live anymore, although I have to agree I do prefer the DOI way of doing the results, and I think that Strictly should consider going back to doing the results live on a Saturday as If I remember they did for the first few series,

I don't think there is actualy a risk of any one getting killed in DOI I think you may be getting it confused with The Jump where that was a distinct possibilty
