Dev's many secret children type storyline all over again... Sounds totally far-fetched, silly.... and boring

You've summed it up perfectly...

Also Michelle Connor spoiler:
Michelle Connor will be involved in a storyline that reveals her son may not actually be hers.

Barmaid Michelle (Kim Ryder), will be confronted by Nick Greco (Robert Horwell) and told that her son Ryan (Ben Thompson) isn't her biological child.

Greco will claim that there was a mix-up at the hospital, and that his son Alex, who was born on the same day as Ryan, is in fact hers and that Ryan is his.

A show insider told the Daily Star: "Can there really be anything more traumatic for a parent to have to endure?"

Well, it's a different type of storyline really - but not one that's required IMO. I supposed we'll just have to be grateful they haven't given it the Platts to explain David's behaviour.

Did anyone notice how the opening scene was sort of... the last bit of the opening credits today? Was that a mistake do we think?

I don't think it was a mistake.. it was shoddily done though, they should have faded it in instead of a straight cut.

Also, i'm surely not the only one that's noticed Reet of late, can anyone confirm what it is exactly that she's had done? Is it just her hair or is it her eyes too, I can't decide...Lorraine Kelly even passed comment on how well she's looking at the moment and I agree she's turning into one foxy old lady ha ha Smile

I think Rita has just had her hair bouffanted up a bit, with a slightly different tint to it. To me her face looks the same, I think she might be using different make-up though. I think she's letting Noris know what he's missing out on Wink

I don't think so - his episodes are usually good.

The humour was on the same droll level as a lot of Harvey's scribings, that's what led me to believe it might have been him.

Not to worry anway-- I actually quite enjoyed Mondays episodes, some humorous dialogue I thought.

Big spoiler:

Coronation Street's Vera Duckworth is to die in a tear-jerking New Year plotline, it has been revealed.

Liz Dawn – who has played Vera for 33 years – will film her final scenes with the ITV soap at the end of the year.

Three alternative death scenes have been written, but filming of only one script will take place in a closed-set environment and viewers will only learn of her fate when the episode airs in January.

The decision to kill off such an iconic character came after long, extensive meetings between Corrie's executive producer Kieran Roberts, producer Steve Frost and Liz herself.

It was decided that an emotional and dramatic finale for the character would be far more justifiable than her leaving the Street and returning for the odd re-appearance throughout the ensuing years.

Of the decision, Steve Frost said: "After discussions with Liz Dawn we have settled on a heart-breaking exit story which will see Vera leave Coronation Street in 2008.

"Liz's contribution to Coronation Street has been quite remarkable. She has played Vera, one of the most-loved characters on British television, for 33 years and she will be missed enormously, by everyone who works with her on the show and by millions and millions of viewers.

"It has been a great privilege to work with Liz and I wish her a very happy and very well-deserved retirement.”

Liz commented: "It is going to be very emotional filming Vera’s death scenes but I do think it is the right decision for the character.

"Steve Frost and Kieran Roberts were very respectful about how I would feel about Vera dying and we talked about it at length before we made the final decision.

She added: "I have had 33 marvellous years in Coronation Street and will miss everyone very much."

Liz announced her decision to quit in July due to her ailing health.

What a shame. I like Vera and would of preferred her to come back every now and then.

Little point in spoilering that considering it's all over everywhere already, but it's a shame it's been leaked with the producers just promising to keep the detail secret.

Would have been much better to keep up the pretence she was going to leave the Street and then kill her off unexpectedly.

I'm surprised Radio 1 didn't give any warning about revealing the plot, even if it is fairly well known.

I don't think it would have worked - in the current climate where spoilers are rife, it would have leaked eventually.

Good decision though - much better than the original plan IMO.
