Just made it to the first episode with the new titles, and the music is quite clearly a bit different to the version that was used for most of the 90s. There's even the strange bit where it seems to almost stop!

The video of the 1992 titles on the last page sounds more like the version I'm familiar with, I'm guessing they changed it after a while?

They didn't change the titles or music at all until the plane crash in December 1993.

Maybe it's the mixture of low bitrate audio compression, cheap laptop speakers and VHS linear audio which makes the music in that video sound different, then.

Listening closely it does still have that strange bit where the music seems to slow down then speed up again which isn't there on the 1993 & 94 titles.

The music along with the titles changes from Thursday December 30th 1993 onwards. I remember that date so well as it was my 18th Birthday 😀

Depending on schedules we may just about see if before Christmas this year: if not early January next year.

Sounds like the pitch of the music on the break captions has gone up on today's second episode. Lead up music to the end credits (different to what was used through most of the 90s) and the return of scrolling credits too.

Also I found the last 10 minutes of an episode from 1995 on my hard drive from the VHS tapes that I digitised years back, looks like the leadup to Joe's funeral. The Woolpack interior now twice the size it was in 1992, Amos on his last stint on the show. Also had an episode from November 2002- one of those that would have been originally intended to go out with a film look before they thankfully got rid of it after a week.

Yep, that was the break music used until the 98 revamp, the original version only lasted a couple of weeks. Notice the slightly different end credit music on that episode that was occasionally used throughout the 92 titles run.

Seemed to be quite a large number of dropouts and interference on the tape of today's episode.

A terrible and obvious cut during one scene as well, though I think that was due to content rather than tape damage. The picture just jumped, they didn't even splice in a brief cutaway to hide it.

I’m a bit behind on episodes by a couple of weeks due to watching more news with last week’s developments.

I must say the content of the show has started to change and the affair with Kim and Neil has spoilt it a bit.

I wonder if they knew when revamping the credits that very soon they would be losing the farm location or was it a move to steer away from farming and centre on the village why the lady shot, is of The Woolpack?

You can feel the build up to the move from the actual Emmerdale Farm with their sudden dire financial situation and Annie's decision to sell her share.

Some powerful acting and strong writing over the past few weeks with the Lorraine/Carol/Lynn child abuse storyline which managed to turn some unlikable characters into ones you had sympathy for - that rarely happens in today's soaps. I always like Lynn Whitely and was pleased she had a key role to play in a number of episodes.

It's quite scary that I can remember a lot of these episodes and it's 27 years old.

I am just under two weeks behind at the moment and that special episode with Carol/Lorraine/Lynn was very good.

Am I right in thinking we have not seen any outdoor scenes at the actual farm itself for a while?

The reason they moved from the farm was because where they filmed it got new owners and they refused to allow them to film there- maybe that had already happened by this point and that's why we haven't seen the outside of it for a while?

That is what I was thinking.

Tomorrow's second episode is the final episode shown on Thames, TSW and TVS, on their final nights on air.

I thought the writers were very clever creating the storyline covering the move from Lindley Farm (the real Emmerdale Farm). The build-up to the departure from the farm begins innocuously with the door that leads to the front parlour and upstairs sticking (which Jack planes and blames on the damp) and the back door which Amos had trouble opening and closing in the first appearance of Leonard Kempinsky and his visit to Annie. Neither of these are of any significance until episodes in January up to the shocking appearance of sinkhole. Quite sad really, I felt it marked the real end of the original Emmerdale Farm era.

The farm buildings have been converted to holiday properties: https://www.onthemarket.com/details/730090/ and the main farmhouse has been stunningly modernised: https://www.emmerdale.me.uk/docs/lindley.pdf
I was in that area recently. Arncliffe is bleak in comparison to Esholt but lovely walks.
chevron, Ben Shatliff and Si-Co gave kudos
