That’s the problem with using a real song to introduce every single programme on a channel. If it was just used in the trailers on the other hand, that would be better. I have to admit I much preferred the idents from the previous Christmas, even if it was the catalyst of the Oneness idents

I suppose it comes down to the song. I really liked it, but then I am a fan of that track. For example I mentioned the 2014 idents earlier, but it could be that people tired of that music.

Never before had the lyric, "And now my song is on repeat" been more appropriate!

"Magician Comeback Tour" - is this possibly a scene from a John Lewis-esq promo which ends with a Magician's triumphant comeback, with more scenes shot in the Theatre?

I guess in about a weeks time we should start to see Christmas pres. Which channels are usually first out of the blocks?

Last year it Channel 5 started their Christmas presentation on the 1st fitting with their advent theme. Did ITV also roll theirs out on the 1st last year or wait until the Saturday?

Channel 5 begins it Christmas schedule tomorrow. Home & Away is now on a break leaving all year round soap Neighbours inbetween Christmas films and now the shorter 5 News bulletins.

Is Sunday continuity pre-recorded on Channel 5? It's just that the announcer said something like "as you can see, Christmas has arrived on 5..." while introducing a programme but the regular idents are still in use.

In Channel 5's defence they only started to air Christmas movies from November 1st having aired spooky dramas (mostly about witches) in the afternoon slot up to Halloween. I'm hoping that Channel 5 produce some lovely presentation again this year (after having nothing in 2016 and the lovely advent ident last year) and here's hoping that their Christmas cheer can roll out to their family of channels too who (as far as I am aware) haven't used Christmas presentation since the 2016 rebrand.
