I think they are still there in Leeds . Perhaps there will not be any regional programmes promoted after all ?????? Anyone know ??????

I doubt it. Regional Programme Promotions are useful to get the region back into sync with network, especially if there is no advert bread first.

Do you often type "bread" or is it your brain doing something for a laugh?

I must have meant to type break.

Well I think it is official now that the team at Leeds have been made redundant, as there was a trailer after Granada Reports tonight for Crimefighters, basically it is done in the same way as a national ITV1 trailer but with a really boring V/O. It also looks like they're using the one voiceover for all of the episodes, as the announcer just said...

"Crimefighters, Fridays on ITV1"

Even though we still have Friday 11.00, ITV1 underneath, alá National trailers.

I assume the same has happened to Yorkshire, Tyne Tees and Border.

It's also the same in the Anglia region. I saw a promo for the same programme after Tuesday's edition of Anglia News Tonight, with the voice-over of the programmes presenter/producer, Jayne Evans on it.

TTTV had a local voice (at least I assume it was local, the female VO had a NE accent) and the name Tyne Tees was mentioned. Stock ITV1 graphics mind.

I saw a trailer tonight after Granada Tonight , for Crimefighters and it was awful . Slow , dull v/o . Definitely not what we are used to from the old trailer team ! What do they hope to achieve ? I would not watch the prog on evidence of that trailer . Ratings must be a problem surely ?
Apparently Clive Jones , new head of news for ITV, gave a presentation a couple of weeks ago that included an overall new look for regional news as a whole and also listed which sites would be affected such as Tyne tees moving and places like YTV and Granada being "re-equipped" whatever that means . Probably taking out present broadcast equipment and replacing with 400 quid PCs from Dell ! There was also a list of "items" that must be featured in every news , such as more magazine items etc etc things that are friendly to the local viewer. Who says the news is current ?????

Well the last trailer that the YTV team made back in Oct/Nov carried the ITV1 branding so this may have been a policy change before the decision to alter the Promos Department was announced. They are coming into line with the Carlton regions who have been advertising regional stuff as 'ITV1' for years.

Now then, interestingly YTV's new trailers for the programmes such as Crimefighters and the new Thursday 7.30pm show are voiced by Pete Haslam as normal....

That's odd, well at the Granada end we seem to have the most dullest voiceover for Crimefighters, but there was another trailer for a new programme on a Thursday night called 2004, the trailer for that was done by Granada Reports' Tony Morris, but I assume he must present the show or something.
