BT Sport - Launch of BT Sport Ultimate

So the BT Sport Showcase output isn't simulcast BT Sport Europe, they've taken the opportunity to schedule different ads in the break and also re DOGged the channel.

Indeed a lot of the adverts on Showcase are for BT TV and BT Sport. Regular adverts have also appeared aswell.

Inevitable it would try to sell the service. Good to see it's full screen though - thought they might have tried to irritate people into subscribing by airing it amongst the usual info graphics.

Pitchside studio looks dire though - tuned in and it was stuck on a lengthy shot of Paul Scholes talking with a fairly uninspiring blue backdrop.

Indeed I was quite surprised to see the info bar gone aswell, it certainly had disappeared before the promo loop finished at 7.00pm.

Just me, or is the picture quality on BT Sport Extra on Sky particularly dire?

Quite like the red button interface (via BT TV)- easy to navigate and feels quite fresh, plus kept quite simple too.

I wonder if BT Sport Showcase will report it's ratings - will be interesting to see how matches do as the competition progresses.

Incidentally, I am led to believe that the BT Sport Europe 'Graphics L' is to disappear under a Red Button later this year.

Stadium facilities may have precipitated this.

It wasn't much better at Old Trafford last week though. I did think they might do this one from the main studio - do they use that much at all nowadays?

Studio 1 has been getting a bit of a spruce-up over the summer - it'll be back on air on the 15th.

Interesting that for one evening only BT Showcase has a full schedule tomorrow ....
