Ha ha, did he really say that!?

I hope you got the tongue in cheek, as it was meant to be - like Inspector Sands did Very Happy

Going off what trivialmatters was saying about media outlets and what I respknded with... I was just talking about Manchester, but within an hour on the M6, M62, and M56 you also have the radio stations, theatres, newspapers, etc of Liverpool, Chester, Preston, Blackpool, Lancaster, Leeds, Bradford and even Sheffield.

And unless trivalmatters do not know, the main theatres in Manchester are the Palace and Opera House, then not too far away are the Bolton's Octagon and Liverpool Empire, as well as Liverpool's Echo Arena - so as you can see, there is a plethora of media outlets in the Northwest and more than sustainable for decent guests on any network show from MediaCity UK.

Don't forget The Lowry Theatre, which is right by the BBC in Salford.

Not sure if these have been posted (I haven't seen them at least) but there are quite a few photographs of Broadcasting House here.

Beautiful, what a spectacular view of the newsroom News channel will have. Shocked

If I'm correct, this shot is made from where this set should be, through the glass that separates it from the newsroom.

It looks like there are lighting bars installed on the ceiling so likely to be used as a studio. The problem is that the ceiling looks rather low - they'll need to be a little creative with camera shots and perhaps use Barcos on the side walls to make it look larger than it is - otherwise it's going to look rather cramped! (Then again, it is always hard to gain perspective from a photo!)

The larger TV studio is likely to be where Newsnight, Andrew Marr etc come from. But does anyone know what the studio with this newsroom view will be for? Will it go to the main BBC bulletins / news channel or will it be given to BBC World?

Ironically, I do think it would have been better if it had been designed so the studio was on the opposite side - it gets a much better view!

Great find, chris.

There are some stunning pics, and it looks like a fantastic place to work.

I agree. There are some other more interesting views; but then again, we don't know what it will actually look like once all the desks/other equipment is installed.

I think it's the spiral staircases that make that view better, but as said we'll have to wait for everything to be installed. There was a picture of a lighting ring (don't know how better to describe it - similar to those they have towards the ceiling in N8 in the newsroom) being installed which seemed to have LED lights on. I'm sure it will look great when it's all done - much better than N6.

But does anyone know what the studio with this newsroom view will be for? Will it go to the main BBC bulletins / news channel or will it be given to BBC World?

Regarding the studios, it has been confirmed that this studio will be for the News Channel and the 1, 6 and 10.

I agree the stairs make that side look better but what I like on the view the set will have is that you can see those windows and daylight so it will reflect what part of the day currently is.

I just wish they somehow could have made 2 newsroom sets, one for NC and one for World, with the whole operation now in one gigantic newsroom it would be fitting and justice for both channels. This way one always has to be much inferior to the other.

It would have been nice to have had two studio areas opposite each other with the newsroom in the middle which would have looked almost identical on screen, one for the NC and one for World. It would have made the overnights and the half hour before the 10 (which must look odd to casual viewers) look more seamless.
