Has BBC London News also moved today? The 6.30 bulletin does seem a bit iffy picture quality wise with a green screen backdrop not as good as per usual.

I've just watched it back, and it appeared to be in the normal studio. A few unusual camera angles, due to having a few guests in - but I'm pretty certain that it wasn't green screened.
If the picture quality was a bit lower than usual, it's possible they were testing that the opt switch worked from Millbank, with a Millbank MCR source; but I believe they're not moving from Egton until after the Friday late bulletin.

I've heard conflicting information about whose studio they'll be using at Millbank - whether it'll be the BBC's one, or Millbank Studios'. If it's the former, there's going to be a very quick turnaround on Wednesday lunchtimes between the end of the Daily Politics and the London headlines!

Yep - though does Millbank still have a newsroom set (as once used for Westminster Live, Dateline London, and also when BBC News had to decamp on at least one occasion)? They could conceivably park a camera in there for the headlines and bring the others round from the Daily Politics studio if need be?

Or even bring cameras from Egton with them to save moving Millbank's between the sets? I'd imagine it would be fairly straightforward to overplug them?

Well BBC London TV move has obviously not gone well as we had South East Today welcomeing viewers from London this lunchtime.

Nice little variation on the theme tune too - I thought all the English regions took the same music since the 2008 relaunch?

It was all going swimmingly - until 4 Millbank lost power at 1200. BBC Parliament is affected too.

They don't have much luck with power at Millbank, do they?

BBC Persian moved to their temporary facilities in Bush House on Thursday:

Very nice backdrop too. There's another, larger area off the side of the bulletins studio with a Barco and temporary newsroom, which they're using for their interactive programme and features.

Is that where BBC Turkish do their news programme from? I notice on the BBC Turkish programme this week they've been using a one-camera shot of a newsroom all week.

Yes, it's the same studio - Turkish are using the greenscreen studio at Bush for their programmes while Persian TV are occupying theirs.

(The footage they're using for the CSO was filmed at Egton)

Is that the BBC Arabic newsroom? It looks like it to me. Thanks for the info, as well!

I believe it's an angle looking into one of the Arabic studio galleries. Smile
