Seeing as our London region is split between Carlton and GMG. Having not seen anything for London, do you think it will be ITV1 for London, and ITV1 for London At The Weekend? or is that too wordy?
Maybe if we all sent an e-mail in to them saying how nice they are - they might make more - and use them more often too.
I do think it quite likely that it's a pilot for a concept which might eventually be rolled out over the network. The celebs are tacky and age very badly, the boxes are more natural and a welcome move away from the people idents that are so prevalent. The work that's clearly gone into them is too extensive for them to be restricted to regional use.
Incidentally, is HTV Wales only using them into regional programmes, or do they appear at network junctions too?
And do ITV ever use full length versions of their idents now? I can't remember the last time I saw anything other than a short version.

They're only being used into regional programmes. If ITV1 ever refreshes the current celeb idents, I bet it would be tempting to just use the regional Wales idents before all programmes instead of adding the different logo to all of the national idents.
What's so threatening to ITV about having regional idents for all junctions? I blame Jim Hytner - it was his idea to only have regional identity before regional programmes, and it was also his idea to have celebrity idents, which was an old idea he rehashed from his time at Channel 5 (remember Keith Chegwin & co talking to the camera?). He's a one-trick pony, and it's not a particularly clever trick at that. Sack him!!!

Hopefully the celeb idents won't be refreshed again. We've had 'celebs' staring, smiling, posing and generally fart-arseing about on idents for long enough!
I hope ITV1 use some christmas idents like these, with perhaps a view of Snowdonia covered in snow, something like that anyway
Of course, in reality we never get snow at Christmas!
And in reality we don't get penguins with scarves on, but we still use them for Christmassy stuff. And, I think you'll find, Snowdonia gets snow at Christmas.
Carmarthenshire gets a sort of slushy stuff on the ground at Christmas, the locals use it to make bread.
