I just saw a new ident for ITV Central England... and it WASN'T a celebrity one...
It had a view of a river/valley with three giant blue and one giant orange blocks scattered around the river, some closer to the camera, some further away.
Saw it leading into a regional program at 14:30.
Is this a new thing? Imagine, you could idents with those blocks at important regional sites, city centre views, landmarks, etc... they're great...!!

I'm afraid not... but it had the view and had the ITV 1 logo in the usual placed with 'ITV 1 in Central England' in a font that looked like trebuchet ms.

Must be... well atleast they're more regional than they were... I like them, there's loads of scope for them.

AFAI can remember, there was no music, just the sound from the view ii.e. the sound of the river flowing, bird etc.

, Also there is no idents before Granada News so i will have to wait untill tomorrow now.

The cubes are real, rather than superimposed on, and I seem to remember it zooming out from the centre.

I had hoped to see it on Westcountry, but they are still continuing with the generic only ident into regional news (although the daft convoluted 'You're watching ITV1 Carlton for the Westcountry' announcement has suddenly come back into use again.
Interesting junction though, they cut out of a commercial midway, displayed 25 seconds of LNN countdown clock, ran 3 promos, a PIF (can't remember the last time I saw one on ITV outside of night time), yet another promo, and finally the link into the news.
Did other regions have the same junction?
