I don't like the way the announcer calls it 'BBC Two 'N.I', it sounds rubbish, BBC Two Northern Ireland is much better

Finally some more 2s but when will they appear on the english BBC TWO. I probably like these ones more cos they weren't the first to replace the old ones. As long as they keep coming up with new ideas and get to about 20 different idents everything will be a step towards the old days! I really think 'Fry' should be Breakfast!

Bloody hell they are bad, but they are part of the set of new twos, so what do we expect! Are wales and scotland going to get versions? Also if we are extremly lucky England could get a few (we usually miss out because, 'a network fee needs to be maintained'), but then again MORE of these, I don't know which is worse, loosing faith with even more bad idents or suffering with few.

Another 'BBC LDN'esque attempt to make it sound 'modern'... I don't think it sounds too bad, though.

I believe that BBC TWO NI and BBC TWO Northern Ireland are two distinct services, one is digital and one analogue - in the mould of 'BBC 2W'.

I can't see the rest of the country getting Causeway as it is distinctively Northern Irish, the breakfast one maybe. Only problem, doesn't the breakfast one having many different colours on it break some kind of design rule?

I don't think it breaks the design rules - it's a piece of hideous rubbish like the rest of them!

BBC TWO Northern Ireland no longer exists.

Outside of the 'NI' branded zone (1800-2400 each evening), Network BBC TWO symbols are used, with local voiceover. Also, whilst the BBC TWO NI branding goes out on Digital, Network BBC TWO idents, with local voiceover, go out on the Analogue BBC TWO service in Northern Ireland.

It is the daftest piece of branding I have ever seen. We now have such silliness as local programmes going out during daytime, introduced by a Network BBC TWO symbol...and similarly, the trails for those programmes having not even a hint of local branding.

Absolutely ludicrous. Their 'defence'...undoubtedly along the lines of...'how else would we set apart our local zone from the rest of the service'.

Why couldn't they call the Digital version 'BBC TWO NI', and the analogue version, 'BBC TWO N. Ireland' (to fit in the purple box).

Would be nice if us poor analogue viewers of BBC TWO (Northern Ireland) - for want of anything else to call it - could see the new idents, the current four are just boring.

If/when BBC ONE Northern Ireland gets a new look (as is currently rumoured) will it just become 'BBC ONE'?

Is BBC TWO Wales also dead now? And what's the story with Scotland?

BTW, There's a Two NI website at http://www.bbc.co.uk/northernireland/bbc2ni/index.shtml

NO - BBC ONE will be getting MORE not less regional programmes - although I don't know exactly what will happen in the Nations.

I would expect a TWO NI/2W style service for Scotland quite soon, but who knows.

To clarify, BBC TWO (Northern Ireland) still has the same amount of regional programmes on analogue as it always had (well for the past few years anyway), and these are not moving to BBC ONE. It's just the onscreen branding - its now 'BBC TWO' rather than 'BBC TWO Northern Ireland' - that's changed. Wheras all (almost all) idents on BBC ONE Northern Ireland analogue have local branding, and all trailers for local programmes do, this is not the case on BBC TWO analogue - even trailers for local programmes are just branded BBC TWO. Even the English regions with very little local output have regional identity on their idents and trailers...

So BBC Two northern ireland has a special service in the evening like BBC Two wales.

BBC TWO NI
BBC 2W

I expect BBC 2w will get special '2' idents soon and will use the yellow and purple scheme also, now we wait for BBC TWO Scotland.

2's in kilts, 2's playing bagpipes????

i hope BBC Two network get 2 new prime time idents also.

I find it a bit alarming to say the least that Northern Ireland, Scotland and Wales get their own BBC Two 'zones' (assuming Scotland get one too, which is inevitable really), yet England is deemed appropriate just to recieve the 'network' version. Why oh why don't we get an English zone, with English-only comedy shows? God, it's not as if the Welsh are better than us or anything, no wonder Englishness is rapidly disappearing. Bah, humbug.
