Which one is that then? My money's on Spotlight - it hasn't had a full revamp since it went corporate.

All I can advise is to keep an eye on sky channels 941-962 over the next few weeks (although most changes seem to take place on mondays for obvious reasons).

And I apologise in advance if my spy has let me down Sad

As for South Today, I caught a bit at work the other day.... probably the best looking BBC regional programme in terms of set and the way items are presented within it.

What happened to Roger Finn though, is he always out on the road now?

Roger tends to report for the 'Southern Ways' part of the programme, but he does present occasionally - although last time I saw him was at Christmas.

Nice to see the thread being used. Thank you. You are correct about Roger last presenting at Christmas and a few bulletins he was behind the desk aswell! Also what has happened to Lucy she seems to not do mondays and tuesdays at the moment with Stuart Norval doing these days.
Also I missed parts of last nights programme. Shame!

Yeah I was going to ask about Lucy. At first I thought she was on holiday but obviously she isn't. Not that I'm complaining though as I am also a fan of Stuart, who is a very genuine bloke, and it is nice to have a male presenter every now and then.

I think South East Today may be getting a new set. Beverley Thompson was interviewed on BBC Radio Kent a few weeks ago and she hinted that the current set was too small (it was only built around one person) and that a new studio was on it's way. Additionally, last Saturday the Radio Kent newsreader had to tell the builders to stop drilling whilst she read the news, so it seems there are some changes at the Great Hall.

Beverley did mention about a relaunch to me in a recent email so maybe this is the region which is getting a new look that Larry as talking about?
Buerkmani, I like Stuart too I quite like his ab-lib bits. Also does what does anyone think of Geraldine Peers and the oxford opt??
And I haven't seen Bruce Parker for ages on a weekend bulletin.

Could anyone tell me if Alina was back tonight??

No Alina tonight, Mike Powell and the usual banter between him and Sally Laughing
Mikes presentation thou! talk about SPEED Shocked , if you were to blink you would of missed those graphics.
Does any one know as to when the Oxford -opt is to get a studio face lift??
I think they should lose the Oxford-opt, and slighty re shape the format of the main show.
Stuart is great on ST, I reckon he may be destined for bigger things. Like Gary Bushell (remember him?) or Andrew Harvey or even Jane Hill.

I fear Bruce may of gone into full retirement now, hope not, Bring back "The South on Sunday"!!

Bruce retired last year, although he popped back in the summer. He lives in france the rest of the time now I think.

Whooops!! Gary Bushell is the ex-Editor of The Sun Rolling Eyes
Mike Bushell I mean Confused

That is a shame bout Bruce although all good things must come to an end.
Wasnt he the longest serving presenter for a BBC Region?, I heard it from somewhere but I cant remember if it were true.

Mike Bushell can be seen on News 24 I think presenting the Sport.

You might be right about Stuart moving on but I personally think he suits regional news and appears to be happy on South Today. It's important for regional news to keep familiar faces as they have done with Sally.

Also, I'd like to see more of Allen Sinclair presenting at night along with his reporting. Far far better than Pauline Brandt who I'm sure is a very nice lady, but not a good newsreader.

...And Garry Bushell was the TV writer on The Sun, not the editor. Wink

Yeah Mike has done well out of it all. You are right about Stuart he really enjoys ST although i would like to see him do N24 one day. Allen Sinclair is very good for ST, he has also grown a rather nifty gotaee!!
Pauline seems to be very square on the late show, she sounds quite monotone when at that time of the day it pays for you to be more authoratitive.
