Thats ridiculous, the photo shows the Palace of Westminster behind Regent Street, so quite obviously Big Ben was visible. How very childish to relate such a minor error of the BBC's with the general output of the entire online services.

Your a bit of a **** really with nothing better to do and taking every small opportunity to have a go at the BBC. Sorry if I sound bias but yes I do like the BBC, but no i don't bum them!!!!

Oh grow up! I was havin a bit of a larf, that's all! I think bbc.co.uk is the finest website there is and wasn't having a go, just pointing out an amusing error.

Anyway I emailed them and they changed it Palace of Westminster.

Regarding the web closures:
Games / fantasy footy - already provided by private sector (many games sites)
Soap - Could be construed (sp?) as promoting commercial programmes, but PS was quite popular (even had its own show on Choice at one point)
What's On, Surfing - Eh? If the surf info is like that on Ceefax/BBCi then it would come under 'information', and surely What's On is information? Some may say it's advertising, but it's useful - where BBCi's cinema listings are free, Sky Active's similar service is pay...

the local bbc sites are pretty awful. Some of the pages don't get updated for months and sometimes years....
