Personally, I don't think the lockdown Oneness idents are bad. At least we never got the gormless standing idents but I would've preferred if they did something new to reflect 2021's new beginnings and to sort of escape from the terrible year prior. If anything, I can agree that the lockdown idents could easily become permanent if they developed the idea more, mainly because of how easy it is to grab a phone and record something that could represent the PSB's main channel. It would be good if there WAS a symbol but this is better than nothing I suppose.
Nice work at BBC NI too, they did a really good job at sending a heart warming message, even if the year has just been abysmal for many.

I’m not keen on the idea of “people”. What’s wrong with an ident that doesn’t involve random people/animals/ doing random things? Let the animation/symbol speak for itself.
For the sake of introducing a symbol, they could do worse than rip-off the original mid-2000s STV idents - e.g. people passing a red "1" prop around.
