Exactly. They'll also want to keep it somewhat separate just in case circumstances leadcto them wanting to sell at some point down the track.

Bskyb was the offical name for over ten years. Sky not going anywhere... Sky name is used across europe.

NO NO NO NO, lets get a fact straight, before this gets out of hand:

BSkyB was the official name since 1990, so about 24 years until it changed it's name to Sky plc.

Rupert has wanted Sky back for years, the company seems to be making more money than ever, in a world where Papers aren't making as much as they used to, hence the NewsCorp/21st Century Fox split.

It's not rocket science why Murdoch wants outright control of Sky, I'd highly doubt they'd change much about it once it happens.

Many concerns raised is the potential further power Murdoch has. Certainly the takeover will probably be referred to Ofcom, but I can see it going through. Considering Theresa May has already met up with Murdoch, I can imagine that this has been discussed.

Plus, strong dollar, weak pound, better time than never.

Good for him I say, he was brave enough to spend a vast amount of his newspaper profits on Sky to get it established when they could have just gone straight in the bank. For all his faults, I think he deserves it.

Will they spin Sky News out this time? ISTR that was one proposal last time to help avoid the Newspaper + News Channel monopoly/single owner issue.

Hive off? I'd say that's highly likely, but probably only after any investigation by the competition commission.

Will the existing FOX channel move up on the Sky Guide? It's something I can imagine them doing...

EPG positions are regulated by Ofcom. If one becomes available to buy then it's possible, or swap with one of their own. 106/7/8 and 121/2 are the only ones Sky own above Fox.

Ah thank you, I didn't know that they were regulated other than the PSBs.

Sky 1 - FOX 1
Sky 2 - Won't exist
Sky Living - FOX Living
Sky Atlantic - FOX Atlantic
Sky Arts - Sky Arts 1 and 2
Sky Arts 1 - FOX Arts 1
Sky Arts 2 - FOX Arts 2
Sky News - FOX News

If Sky2 wont exist then surely Sky 1 just becomes simply 'FOX'? If they do go this in depth (which I doubt), I think they'd bring over the FX and FXX brands too.
I also don't think they'd rebrand Sky News, they'd be crazy to do that.

Sky Arts 2 doesn't exist anymore. It was pulled off the air in June 2015 to allow both services to merge into a single Sky Arts channel.

And there would be no point in rebranding the Sky brand into Fox. It's a huge brand in the UK, it'd be unthinkable to throw away the brand heritage it's built over the past 2 and a half decades or so.
