Personally so far it's very average, I'm very underwhelmed so far.
I think the whole flicking backwards and forwards between the screen with Ed to Adam in Scotland just feels a little disjointed. I far preferred the old studio setup used in previous years.
We'll see how the night goes on, but the constant "Decision Time" graphics and the swoop sound when going between different locations is highly annoying. (9 times in about 4 minutes)
Are they beeing serious? Bringing this ridiculous and annoying swoosh all the time instead of making one proper election ToTH with their election music. It is so sad to see what happened to this once great news channel. I had to switch off after a few minutes.
I just saw it about 6 times in little more than a couple of minutes.
People say that the new Sky News is about going back to basics, well I don't get how they say that the decision time music is not needed for 10 seconds once an hour at most and not acceptable but we are having these constant annoying swoops on a regular basis which are far more tacky and something I'd expect to see on Fox News.
Another 4 in about 30 seconds just there going into a break. If that happens all night it would wreck my head.

I don't think most of the recent changes in the last year to Sky News have been that mad, I don't really miss the voiceover these days and I started to like the new graphics and prefer them to the old ones now, but tonight's tacky noises and constant wipe is the most annoying thing I have seen on Sky News for years.
It's almost like decision time has an identity crisis, we removed all of the Decision Time themes, and the usual studio set-up so we have to keep reminding people it's actually decision time.
The problem is that the coverage is being interrupted by constant distractions such as that bloody swoop and un-necessary graphics.

Its a shame they haven't brought back the decision time music - it made a nice change once a year
Presentation wise its all just a bit too white and bland for me - they could have added some colour to the wipes or done something with the background at least but I always like to see the vidiprinter in action which is much better than the BBC flashing up a strap for 5 seconds and then its gone forever

At the moment Anna Botting is doing the Press Preview so she is at SkyNewsCentre and can take action if this happens though I don´t know how long she will stand by at SNC.
It's hardly a surprise that the decision time music was gone, it was only used at 9pm TOTH and 10PM for the exit poll and it was never seen again after that, they reverted to normal music with decision time graphics, so not surprised it's been totally dispensed with.
I agree with the too much white as well, it doesn't need to be crazy colour, but a little bit would be really nice, like they had with the GE in 2015 with the different colour stripes.
Why did they also quit every background of key locations such as Westminster? No Palace in the background just a bland blue wall. I think this is just to much of simplicity and therefore those never ending swooshes make no sense actually because they don´t match with their current presentation style IMO.
Surely the measure of the coverage should be in the analysis and speed of the results, and not theme music?

I agree but I'm planning to watch the coverage all night so these little presentation elements such as special music makes a nice change to the standard thing we see day in day out and makes it feel like more of an event. The wipe looks like its taken 2 minutes to recolour the standard transition and have it fly off the bottom of the screen and as for the backgrounds used on the 2/3 ways well its just white with the standard bland splodge animating which I've never liked from day 1.
