On the upside - at least the Gherkin gets a space slightly larger than a cleaners cupboard back.

It was reported in The Guardian in January that the move may happen.
From today, business bulletins will come from Osterley and "Ian King Live" will come from Millbank. It has been decided not to renew the lease on the space at the Gherkin, but I am not in a position to comment any further on the whys-and-wherefores.

Sky News may have to find a new City studio as soon as April after the landlord of London’s Gherkin looks to rent out the space.
It is understood that Sky News, who opened the studio in 2010 in order to bolster its business team’s relations with the key players in the City, has been given until April to negotiate with the Gherkin’s landlord Safra Group.
Sky News operates an annual lease at the building, which was due to expire at the start of next month, but it is understood that an extension has been agreed while negotiations continue about the possibility of staying or moving.
The office is home to weekday evening business show Ian King Live, which is broadcast from a studio on the 15th floor of the Gherkin, officially known as the Swiss Re building.
A spokesman for Sky News said it was in talks with the landlord and no decision had been made on the future of the studio.
It is thought that if Sky News does have to leave the Gherkin it will not look find another location in the City for the business team.
They would be moved to its Westminster location at Millbank Studios, which may make it trickier to attract some City guests.

Always thought it would have been better to have a studio with the Gherkin as the backdrop. Having the studio actually in the Gherkin didn't allow the backdrop to be as good as it could have been.

The NC don't appear to have problems getting guests from the City. Many of the firms have a fixed camera to do a DTL or are able to send someone to BH to do a two way.
We'll probably see financial guests use Millbank more than in the past for the biz bulletins during the day.

It's a regular segment we do on Tuesdays during Kay Burley's slot so viewers can ask questions to two guests in the know on all things EU. There should be more next week! I do believe we used to do something similar when we had people tweeting live during the Murnaghan Sunday programme.

It is not going to rival Question Time or The Agenda when the panelists are five, from a pool of nine and feature no MPs.
Reading the Guardian piece it is more akin to Loose Women.
