I wonder if they'll do the weather forecasts on Sunrise from that screen? One of the issues with the current large screen is that the weather graphics look awful in SD on Freeview.

Sorry guys, I think this new look will be a disaster.

Don't mean to be negative. I will give it a chance!

Eh?

It sounds like I am being really negative, but I don't mean it in that way. I will give it a chance, but I am not convinced.

And how much footage of actual programming from the completed studio have you actually seen?

Why do you need to see footage? I have seen enough to make up my mind, I hate it. As I said, I will give it a chance.

The more I look at it the more I think NO. It even looks a bit cheap. I get the same feeling in my gut I did when Daybreak started. At least that had a bit of colour. Maybe I'm behind with the times.

How you can draw any conclusions about how it will actually look on launch day when it's been stated it's not finished, and you've not seen how they're going to use the space on camera, is truly beyond me.

And that's before you even consider the actual content is far more important for the vast majority of viewers, rather than the colour of the wall behind the newsreader. Many more people will / have turned to the BBC because of the links to the Murdoch's than because of a lack of colour in the background, more will turn over because of the presenter changes than the lack of a voiceover.

Until you see the completed version, you can't possibly be in a position to call it a disaster, or predict it going down like a tonne of bricks!

(that said, there's nothing wrong with saying you don't like the white - it's the drawing of conclusions I (and it appeared skygeek did) take issue with. At least let them finish before you decide its all carp)

As I said, I will give it a chance.

I thought you'd made up your mind?

Was there a shortage of generic TV chairs? These are clearly poor imitations.

The Generic chairs are off for some extra colour to added to them along with fireworks to come out the sides at the TOTH. Laughing

As I said, I have a gut feeling like I did with Daybreak, lets just wait and see, maybe it will work well......

I hear they are still waiting for them in the lost luggage from Rio

I have to say, I'm rather fond of the orange light strip below the screen. I think it's all looking rather fabulous - and a massive departure from what they have now. What they have now will, I reckon, look really dated once this is on screen.

I wonder how much it cost? Two Ikea chairs and a custom desk. Laughing
