John Kilraine was out in Cavan doing a report on a car accident of a young man in his 20's in Ballyconnell today.

David McCullough had mentioned at the end of Prime Time tonight that it will get a brand new studio, presumably with new titles, an extended programme & an online BTS programme on RTÉ Player from Tuesday the 1st of October.

For half a second I thought it was an interesting move to have Primetime programmes about Korean boy Band group BTS Very Happy

Pardon my ignorance, but what does BTS stand for?

Meanwhile, if I remember correctly, the South Korean boy band's name originally stood for its Korean name B ang t an S o'nyeondan (Bulletproof Boys).

(I'm not into K-Pop, though, so I can't find any appropriate song for you right now.)

I am a fan of K-pop and also J-Pop
But I'm more of a girl group fan, although the boy bands in K-pop are equally just as good as the girls

The new studio for Prime Time is launching tonight. Did anyone see a preview of it on RTÉ One yet?

EDIT: I actually caught it on Twitter. Here it is.

It's a new studio with a smaller desk in the middle & perhaps a new curved video wall with audience chairs placed around it for studio debates. No new graphics are included in this new studio because the theme tune has remained unchanged. A sensible idea maybe? Any first impressions?

I wouldn’t take the reason there have been no new graphics being because the theme tune is unchanged!

Prime Time has only had two theme tunes in its 27 year life, with the current theme in use since the late 1990s, albeit slightly rearranged in recent years. I can’t remember when exactly it was introduced other than it was around the time the original Olivia O’Leary solo format was dropped (“It’s Thursday, it’s Prime Time”) and it became Today Tonight Mk II in all but name.

They are still using Studio 4 I assume, so not a new studio, a new set just or have they moved to a smaller studio and created a new set for it?
