Huw Edwards has replaced David at the Trooping of the Colour, and many other state occasions on the BBC. I feel he would be the natural successor to David. Huw of course has been promoted during the 2015 and 2017 general election coverage and local elections.

To do Question Time he’d have to leave the Ten at least one if not two nights a week though

That should be no problem. Mondays to Wednesdays News at Ten, Thursdays Question Time, with Thursdays and Fridays presented by Fiona Bruce or another regular.

Whoever takes over needs to call glasses spectacles, and refer to people sat on the gangway.

As a replacement, how about Victoria Derbyshire. She chair debates on her show does she not...

Why is he not going the now? during the summer break. It I know a new year etc but surely when the programmes starts a new series would be better.
