Yeah I would say so. Everything is using this bright blue colour now so the opening titles and headline sequence don't really fit in anymore. They're just so dark compared to everything else.
It's actually quite ironic to think that ITV got rid of the "three squares" look and UTV have now introduced it! If they do get new opening titles I see visions of flying squares...
Is it just me or is the first screen grab duller than the others? The lighting is terrible too and doesn't flatter Gillian well at all.
Do they still have whoever is reading the late news/presenting the 1850 update standing in front of the CSO screen with a shot of the old UTV Live set in the background or has this changed too?
Quite unusual to see "UTV News" on the set - is this leading to only the 1730 show keeping the UTV Live name with other bulletins becoming UTV News?
This way of revamping UTV Live week by week is unorthodox - but it IS UTV! - but at least give you something to anticipate next week.

Not sure Col. I missed yesterday's 1850 update because I was watching Hollyoaks and I missed the coming up sequence on the 2230 as well! I'll have a look tonight and try and get a cap. I presume if they've changed one backdrop they'll have changed the other as well but then again it is UTV we're talking about here!
Also notable that UTV have changed the in-vision continuity backdrop as well. The black one is now gone, replaced with a blue one (the Watch to Win backdrop minus the Watch to Win logo)
O/T, but I liked the black IVC backdrop, at least it tied in with the rest of UTV's presentation, I got bored with the "Hall of Mirrors" being used for so long.
I haven't had the chance to see North East Tonight the past week as I have been at work - but it looks like UTV Live have been taking parts of NET's sports reports. Does anyone know who has been reporting on the Roy Keane going to Sunderland story at Tyne Tees? Has it been Simon, or, as I first thought, Andy Kerr?

Your prayers may have been answered Col! These new graphics were introduced on today's lunchtime news. We'll just have to wait and see if they change the rest to fit in!
