Oh dear Rolling Eyes

Didn't Westcountry Live do a similar thing when it began in 1993, where the late Ian Stirling did a soap preview?

Hardly an original idea...

How about getting Keith Burnside and Barbara Palmer roped in and you'll have the late 1980s continuity team reunited on the sofa? Smile

An online promo flyer for UTV plc - with a new corporate slogan "Your complete entertainment family".

Interesting to see a picture of Ivan Little on the bottom of page 4, and why have they still not taken up-to-date pictures of Gillian, Robin, Aidan and Audra? They are using a promo pic of Gilly from c.2000, at least she gets a mention...

An interesting back page - a questionnaire for a *WARNING* new UTV programme called - Ultimate Ulster - asking for the best places in Ulster with the ITV Autumn background graphics. From the looks of it, they are already saving the pennies at Havelock House to produce the series as they say it will be shown next autumn.

Does that include Donegal, Cavan and Monaghan?

Also, on second thoughts about UTV rebranding their news service to cover all their media outlets - will that mean they will start updating u.tv after 6.30pm with breaking news stories?

Tonight's UTV Live contained some "breaking news" read as if it had just come in (about a school shooting... with a pellet gun and no injuries Rolling Eyes ). I'd read the same story on the BBC website well over an hour earlier.

The web design on u.tv is a mess. News stories can now have an irrelevant link or an advert between each paragraph.

Looks like standard advertising bumf that arrives on anyones desk who they think might want to advertise.

Interesting it still has Jamie Delargie, who moved to the Newsletter a couple of months ago!

Of course, that's where the majority of their news comes from Smile

I was just about to post this! Didn't realise it was online. It was an insert in the Belfast Telegraph last Friday and I only got round to scanning it tonight!

I thought UTV's ties with the News Letter came to an end when Brum Henderson left?

Hence why they quickly dropped ULSTER Television...

Also, a bit strange to feature Tina and Claire in the autumn flyer as I would imagine both would be off during the next few months on maternity leave...

Come to think of it, has Tina Campbell had her baby yet? I haven't heard or read anything about it.

Are you insinuating the folks at Havelock House are only pilfering content from ONE source, Peter?

Did the Northern Irish TV news media not bother sending their political correspondents to St Andrews with decent umbrellas? You couldn't have asked for more relevant or ironic weather for the talks, really.

What are the BBC NI graphics team on at the moment? I know they are determined to show they can blow UTV Live out of the water when it comes to graphics, but the Omagh trail/St Andrews talks packages did border on The Day Today standards.

Also noticed over the past few nights at the end of UTV Live, Paul and Kate have been reading out the weather between each other without maps. Wonder what Frank thinks of that?
