James has gone for a career break but will be back
Speaking of business correspondents, Jamie Delargy is still at UTV Live - did you get him confused by Darwin Templeton, Peter? I read somewhere he got the editor's job at the NewsLetter, hence he will no longer be involved with Insight
Oh sorry, Darwin Templeton I meant. Oops!

Have Newsline really sent Mark Davenport, Gareth Gordon and, from the sounds of it, Mar-TEEN-a Pur-DEE to St. Andrews?
EDIT: When did Yvette Shapiro replace James Kerr as Newsline's Business Correspondent?

Alright, whose idea was the A-Team style report on Glentoran on Friday's UTV Live?
Fun to watch, probably fun to film, and at least we know UTV have the same font as used on the A-Team titles
Well done to BBC Newsline and UTV Live for their reporting on the St Andrew's Talks in the past week - I found it comprehensive and well presented.
Also, nice one to Newsline on the report on MI5 on Friday's show, a nice exclusive which wasn't necessarily flagged as exclusive, offered a good insight into the role MI5 will play in Northern Ireland and great graphics.
Looks like the reason why Claire did the early UTV Live bulletins was due to Paul being dispatched to St Andrew's, Lynda on U105 at the time, Kate and Alison seemingly off and no-one else around... did anyone catch who presented the Friday night bulletin if Julian was on IVC duty?

Is it true that the Met Office has closed in Belfast? My dad was saying this the other day. Apart from Newsline with Angie it seems like the BBC NI weather bulletins are coming from London, and on most bulletins now they don't seem to be bothering to show any kind of chart. Where has Cecilia gone?
AJ
I've no idea where Cecilia's gone, but yes, the Belfast Met Office, like several others throughout the UK has closed. Northern Ireland's weather is now done from... Aberdeen.
I haven't heard Good Morning Ulster since the changeover - but I did hear it on the final day of forecasting from Aldergrove a couple of weeks ago when they did a special goodbye to them all. Shame really.

Cecilia was apparently heard reading the weather on Cool FM although I'm not sure on this. I know she no longer appears on Newsline which is why you sometimes get another network presenter popping up in the studio for a week such as Kirsty or Sean. Or those eagle eyed people would have spotted none other than Dan Corbett telling us the NI weather on Thursday.
WH
Ok I know this has nothing to do with news but thought it would be better posting it in here rather than starting a new thread, but the current watch to win is a trip to lapland and utv are using their old reindeer ident.
CO
UTV recycling an old ident again? I am sure the reindeer ident has been reused by UTV before now, perhaps for a children's competition to design a corporate Christmas card.
I had noticed Dan Corbett doing the weather the other night and was going to comment on it... quite unusual. I can't see why BBC NI would get rid of a resident weather presenter as the other BBC regions have done the same, I am certain that given Angie and Cecilia's contributions to Newsline over 10 years that they will still appear in the future.
They could poach Frankie from the mustard sofaland of UTV I suppose
Or there is someone else from Northern Ireland who has experience in compiling weather maps and forecasts that could do the job... </desperate media slut>

Suzanne Cowie used to co-host "Ulster Fly" on BBC Northern Ireland with Joe Lindsay.
She also read out the UTV/Northern Ireland results for the Record of the Year competition in 2002 and 2003, in the period when presenters who worked for the regional companies were replaced by any generic young presenter with a particular regional accent.

Well, according to the Radio Times website, the presenter of
L8 and Live
will be Suzanne Cowie. Up until now I had never heard of her but I've read that she has done some work for the BBC and various other channels so some of you may know who she is.
For those who do, is she any good?
