natasha kaplinsky on the beeb was in my hero as well too. the episode when george decides men should unite and stick together and not be bossed about by the women. kaplinsky states that thermoman has announced that "he will no longer be rescuing women and children".

Trevor McDonald appeared (although it was his voice only) in Johnny English - as did Chris Tarrant, who was a newsreader at one point in his life.

And Adrian Finnighan appeared in "V for Vendetta".

Adam Boulton (pretty sure it was him) appeared in The Day After Tomorrow briefly.

Katie Derham, Phil Hayton, Kirsty Young, Jon Snow, Joanna Gosling and Chris Rodgers appeared in The Day Britain Stopped.

I seem to remember a Mr Tim Willcox in a certain 101 Dalmations, rolling up in a giant ITN branded van to report live on the fate of dogs. Who said news was dumbed down...

Perhaps she thought "Calender Girls" was about the women who have presented YTV's regional news programme!

Simon McCoy appeared in stormbreaker in the old N6.

I just saw Jonathan Hills and Anya Sitaram as News Anchors in an episode of My Hero last night. (instead of the normal appearance by Natasha Kaplinsky).

Huw Edwards was of course in Doctor Who.

There's always going to be someone from Scotland Today in Taggart.

John MacKay and Shereen Nanjiani were both on it, doing a bulletin live shown on a small tv screen in one of the sets used. Shereen also acted as a body along with Sarah Heaney.
