Nice to see the Southbank live is 50i (i.e. full 50Hz motion) and I suspect it is using a "real" TV camera and possibly a "standard" link (standard COFDM RF and/or DSNG). Budget too low to give the reporter a radio stick?
Gavin looks to be 25p so could be a DSLR and/or a low bitrate 3G/4G link. Slightly miserable picture quality. (Acceptable for a reporter driving in to Libya, less so from a standup in Central London) Looks like the camera operator with Gavin might be a bit less experienced judging by the framing and camerawork.
The pilots that were free-to-view suggested that the studio will be 25p (DSLRs - though some DSLRs can run 50p - so 25p isn't a given)
Pity they've gone for a top-of-screen LIVE bug (like so many others). Much prefer them bottom of frame where they don't end up sitting on people's heads.

Looking forward to the stand-up comedy programme later. It's a shame to limit some of this stuff to the London audience only. Having looked at the schedule I dare say they have made some of the original programmes with a view to selling them on, especially the cookery and documentary programmes.
