ITV Weather using a horrible condensed version unnecessarily for the Day label at the moment probably because they have a Christmas graphic there. But there is no need for it to be condensed.

It usually happens this time of year, so they can fit in the words 'Christmas Eve/Day' etc. in the tiny box.

Seems quite odd to have the Lunchtime News, then show Shrek 2 then have the Evening News straight after. It's only a 90 minute movie!

No ITV London this morning. They showed Meridian (South sub-region).

That is good news and well deserved. I wonder if there is going to be a reshuffle of correspondents and possible promotions. We know Emma Murphy will very soon replace Robert Moore in America.

Replace or supplement?

Replace - US Correspondent-elect as she puts it. Robert Moore steps down but will remain a correspondent in the US.

Paul Brand is always great on ITV News and I think he's a future Political Editor in the making. Certainly better than Peston!

Agree with that. Could see Paul Brand making Deputy Political Editor in a few years when Peston starts to get his attention spread more thinly, a la Tom Bradby around 2012/13

Let's hope nobody at ITV News think Peston could be a potential anchor for News at Ten, they'd have to extend the bulletin to 45 minutes!
