According to Alastair Stewart, ITN have been playing the 'long ending' on the news tonight as a tribute to a former ITN employee. If anyone's watching +1 they might want to check it out in about 15/20 minutes.

It didn't sound that long, it certainly wasn't as long when they had timing issues and played out the entire closing theme.

Steve said he's back with Nina at the end of the lunchtime news.

It was Steve and Nina on the Evening News, and Steve and Nina on the News At Ten. Steve Scott has had a long shift today.

Nonetheless it was intentionally longer than usual to mark Paul Cunningham's passing. Paul was a current Sound Mixer at ITN who sadly passed away last weekend. He was a thoroughly decent chap and I know many at ITN were very shocked and saddened this week.

It came as a huge shock to us all Rob. I'd known and worked with Paul for many, many years and he was a dear friend and colleague. He'll be sorely missed.

I thought the NaT tribute was a very touching gesture by ITN. I can't recall any other occasion when a crew member has been commemorated in this way who didn't pass away in the course of duty. That's a huge testament to the high regard Paul was held in.

Couldn't agree more.

Charlene is a fantastic presenter. She has real warmth about her, and that smile is so infectious.

Here's hoping it will be the 6.30 or even NaT next...

I must be the only one that thinks Charlene White is a bit meh & dull tbh. My opinion but hey ho, if she is breaking into the lunchtime ranks then clearly she is rated.

I think she might do what Alex Hyndman/Hill done, starting off on the Lunchtime then move onto the other network bulletins...
