I can't work out when in the programme that went out. It wasn't the headline sequence, nor was it at the end, yet BBC East seemed to start their opt right at the end of that clip ?

This is the second time this has happened in the space of like 2 months? Last time it was the whole headline sequence and opening. There is also a clip on youtube showing a similar thing happen a few years ago.

They opted for the headlines as normal. We returned to Jane and then on the top story Norwich returned.

Norwich have a history of doing this even going back to days on St Catherine’s Close!

It looks like it's the next (1:15) headline sequence, either being rehearsed or recorded.

My thinking is that they take do the headline and then cut to network through the gallery. Then they opt back cleanly and rehearse/record the next set of headlines..... but this time they didn't opt back for whatever reason

Unusual mistake on Look East (East) main programme last night. Played out a wrong package (repeat of an older one few weeks previous) and Susie had to apologise later on.

Just intrigued... does anyone know why Look East continue to use Weatherquest forecasters in studio every Monday (at least)?

Just seems strange with all the budget cuts going on that they are still paying for their services. For a long time weren’t they just taking someone from London? Usually Sara Thornton (as per weekends).

I'm not sure I entirely see the difference between using Sara down the line from London or using Chris or Dan from Weatherquest. They may all be individually contracted, as and when required, on the same rate. It might be easier for someone to be in Norwich than getting some into London - given hub forecasts are all still from home.

Indeed Weatherquest are based in Norwich.

Dan Holley did put on Twitter that Weatherquest would no longer be used by BBC East and all good things come to an end, a few years ago. But due to covid the situation has changed The forecasts that Chris and Dan provide are much more informative, it’s a shame they cannot be full time!
