If you'll forgive repeated posts and lots of images - I've had a forage around my photos of ITN at GIR over the past 12 years and have uploaded a selection I thought you all might find interesting. There's so much available for the BBC so I hope this will redress the balance a bit. Enjoy!

Where was the Early Evening News newsroom studio when they used to do the swoop across the Atrium? Is that now office space?

And did News at Ten use the same space in that era?
That was the best ITN (on ITV) era for me, in the newsroom, the sweeping shots in, the aerial shots over 'ITN Headquarters'. Seemed very different from the BBC at the time. Perfect.

I think they did share Studio 3 in about 1992-95.
I don't know for certain - Studio 3 and 4 occupied the same physical space but when it was kitted out for the News Channel it became known as Studio 4. My personal thoughts on this is so that it would align numerically with the new NC control room, PCR4. You also had St5/PCR5 and St6/PCR6 at the same time. It may have been for some consistency?

Why did studio 3 become studio 4? Or did I misunderstand?
