WN have just left Victoria Derbyshire with Lucy Hockings going into break.

Was surprised how slow Sky News were with picking up with the story. GMB ran with the story for at least 15 mins with video before Sky mentioned it and then BBC did nothing until the the official Police tweet confirming the incident.

Think GMB were with the story just seconds after it happened.

I suppose the earlier you take the story, the bigger risk you are taking, editorially speaking.

GMB I guess got lucky having camera crew at Richard Gaisford at Westminster for something unrelated earlier. The broke off the interview with Frank Bruno at 7.41 to show live the man being taken away by police.

GMB covered the story at the standards this morning you'd expect of a news channel so well done to them.

Poor by Breakfast - sounds like they took quite a while to realise how serious it was whereas ITV were quick off the mark to go into rolling coverage and Sky not too far behind
