"I don't know how Paul Hudson is going to cope without me checking his forecasts. Seriously though, I'll miss my good old mate."
lol. So Paul has the same banter with Harry that he has with Peter Levy then?

I noticed on tonight’s programme, mention was made that Harry would be pursuing ‘new broadcasting challenges’. So it seems like he’s not retiring completely.

So that's two women replacing veteran male presenters at Spotlight and now Look North. Now while I'm all for positive discrimination, neither of them are on a par with Justin or Harry.

I just hope the BBC in the South don't get any ideas about getting Sally Taylor to "retire"

"replacing" misrepresents the reality somewhat. The two women in question are well established as co-presenters with Justin and Harry rather than replacements being brought in.

It's still a replacement however as Harry's role is becoming Amy's, even if she's been a regular part-timer in recent years.

I'd debate however that the tone of the bulletin changes when Amy Garcia is solo. Yes, she's capable, but it becomes a completely different style compared to the 40 years of experience that Harry Gration brought to Look North and South Today previously. The friendliness along with the authority that has been a distinctive part of the regional BBC bulletins in that part of Yorkshire will go next week.

I know times have to change, yet those regions who still used experienced older presenters to present their main bulletins are going to become less and less thanks to these cuts as they're the ones they can retire off, even if the presenter still feels capable of working.

Still, there's always Calendar as an alternative for now.

Did she forget that Look North audiences got Harry before “Harry met Sally”?

He’ll probably end up writing a weekly column in the Yorkshire Post of something like that

His next job could be in cyber. He just doesn't know it yet.

He will never get to do that sofa tour that was cancelled back in March

The cancellation was seen as an over reaction at the time, if only they knew what was coming

Nothing in 2020 has been reported in such a grave tone as that sofa tour cancelation was!

I know there's a limit as to when someone who's taken redundancy can return as staff but I don't know what the rules are about freelance work.

I wouldn't be surprised that, in time, he'll pop up doing the odd cover shift on Radio Leeds

I'm not sure, with the reduced schedule they have no shortage of cover presenters.
