Another Story on Quay Street from tonights show

I do agree with Peter Kay that the Granada TV sign was like our version of the Hollywood sign Laughing always looked out for it as a kid if we're going through Manchester on the train etc.

Catherine Jacob has tweeted that she's presenting the final Quay Street bulletin on Saturday, but keep quiet on who's presenting on Sunday.

Good clip from last nights show, Peter Kay tickled me up saying he used to hum the Granada start up theme....

Officially the last full bulletin comes from Quay Street today, Gordon Burns has tweeted that he's recorded 'some memories' in the old Krypton studio recently.

Something very odd up with that video, all the archive clips have no sound so it sounds very disjointed.

I must say I am looking forward to seeing the new studio on Sunday. If it is like the ITV News it will be brilliant.

It is good for Granada too, to be the first region outside London to adapt that style.

I will miss Granada at Quay Street though. A building I have been in and also admired for over thirty years. I always used to ask my Father to drive past Granada when I was growing up in the early 1980s.

I've only ever seen it once when I went to see Little Britain Live in Manchester. I saw the name in lights and I was genuinely excited to see it. There's something about that studio. It'll be sad to see it go.

Those clips had sound when they went out on Granada Reports.

That's Granada Reports done from Quay Street then. Very weird and underwhelming ending mind!

Well MediaCity's first showing is confirmed for the Sunday bulletin, Question is what's coming Saturday. Guessing that will be the very final bulletin from Quay Street?

So, when do the old Granada Television studios at Quay Street finally close their doors. Has a date been set?
