When that's happened before, it's been because they've simulcasted CNN US at Amanpour's usual time in anticipation of an event happening during that hour (like a presidential speech, etc).
Amanpour has to go ahead whatever, because of the deal with PBS.
Speaking of Amanpour, here's a clip of her interview with Shepard Smith, which was aired on the PBS program yesterday. Unfortunately, the program was pre-empted on CNN International to give way to the Inauguration marathon coverage.
Slightly different to what we saw on CNNI as they were showing Connect The World beforehand, and had the website banner over the ticker, but also saw the start of the car advert, which suggests CNNI were not taking a clean feed.

CNNI managed to switch back to the clean feed at 17:27 GMT, when John King returned from commercial break. If CNNI don't plan to use the flipper anymore, why don't they just create the same CNN ticker?
Speaking of John King, the weekday Inside Politics show is listed on the schedule for Monday, January 25, at 12pm ET.
Well at least we now know why Amanpour was brought forward to 18:00 GMT as there was live coverage of President Biden announcing executive orders related to Covid. It's ran into the 20:00 hour so Quest Means Business isn't on.

Haven't watched QMB all the way through in a while, has he continued with world headlines at the bottom of the hour throughout, or has that recently returned?

Always done it.
I think it’s probably the only "News Now" / "World Headlines" round up CNNI does now!
.@CNN was #1 in all of TV during @JoeBiden Inauguration & prime time inaugural coverage, topped b’cast & cable news nets. Biggest Inauguration audience in CNN’s history. #1 in all of cable since the Election. Digital nearly doubled 2017 Inaugural audience https://t.co/KypCLrJY8upic.twitter.com/sQUZbRLSIo
Good to see the AC360 covering a range of issues and stories for once, and not just one story (ie Trump!) constantly for the full hour! May this continue!
