When will BBC News move to single-handed news presentation? Some time next year?

Do you know that it will? - because I have been unable to confirm that.

They said that there would be less double-headed presentation, not that it would be eliminated.

At weekends, they get some regional news correspondents to become national news correspondents. You also tend to see more of people like Alex Forsyth, Vicki Young and Alan Soady doing the Political Correspondent roles. I also belive Alan Soady is weekend Editor of BBC London 94.9!*

I actually think Alex Forsyth has left BBC South and is actually part of the national crew, she hasn't appeared for ages on South.

I've noticed that Louise Stewart appears quite a lot on weekends as Political correspondent after being the Political Editor during the week for the South East.

Rebecca Williams also occasionally pops up on the NC and BBC London News in addition to her SET duties.

It has been quite common for regional reporters to work for network for many years - particularly over the summer when people are on holiday.

Back in the 90s and early 00s Sally Chidzoy (BBC East) and Joe Campbell (BBC South) used to pop up regularly as reporters at weekends. Obviously it is easier for the reporters in regions closer to London (Southampton, Tunbridge Wells, Norwich/Cambridge etc.)

Just random searching Twitter again, and I've noticed that Matthew Amroliwala may have already created his own Twitter account...

If this is an official account, I guess he finally got forced to have his own twitter since he will soon have host Global. Ha!

With his name, I do wonder why he didn't go for MatthewBBC... bit easier to spell, and surprisingly not taken!

Amroliwala is far more distinctive than Matthew; he's the most famous Amroliwala, after all.
