Lyse Doucet in The Hague to cover the verdict in the Charles Taylor trial, due for announcement at 11G tomorrow. Rare to see Lyse on location in Europe!
Nice to have a rare Wednesday treat of Jonily (Jon Sopel & Emily Maitlis) on the News Channel this afternoon. Even though it's near pointless having two newsreaders in the NC studio today, it's still lovely to have this pair on!
Or 'Sope Mat'
Jon still managed to crack a joke before the 15:30 weather junction, 'How's the drowt going, oh no... that was my script from a few weeks ago' - or something along those lines.
No Worzel, not Sope Mat! The idea is that you take the first half of one of the pairings first name, and the second half of the other person's first name (if that makes sense). Such as Suelian (Sue Thearle & Julian Worricker).

I saw Jon make that joke to Emily before the weather as well. They really are a delightful pairing.
And the awesome Adam Parsons on business news! It'll be a great shame when the business slot is finally axed.

Ah, the commendable, favorable, inviting and talented Adam Parsons, alongside the equally fabulous Martine Croxall. And I go and miss it! Dammit!
I expect Tim Workaholicox, after his sleep under the desk in N6, will present The Hub and World News Today on BBC World, then hotfoot it over to the News Channel for the late night shift at 10:30pm. I've come to expect nothing less from Tim on a Friday.
On the News channel today we have 'Biona' - Ben Brown and Fiona Armstrong.
Who took the lead role today, Ben or Fiona? Ben did it yesterday, I'm just wondering if Fiona was sat on the left side of the desk today (or the right side if you look at it from the presenters' point of view).
And yes, I like the sound of 'Biona'. Rolls nicely off the tongue, that does.
