Intresting to see that they think rolling news is cheaper than stuff like Victoria Derbyshire and Ouside Source
Sounds but right. Victoria Derbyshire for example will presumably have its own team and there's very little cross-over between its content and the rest if the channel.
Compare that with an hour of rolling news, which is usually mostly the same as the previous hour just with incremental changes.
Exactly - it always seemed a strange commission at a time of cost cutting and money that could have been better spent elsewhere. That said I do think there is a place for shows like Victoria Derbyshire on the News Channel - just not in place of rolling news at a key point in the morning.

That's quite interesting.
I noticed on a news report the other day that it was being dismantled in the background, so probably off to somewhere else, or into storage for a while.
Presumably the kit for BBC Sport's (not BBC Sports'
) enclosed temporary studio is quite portable, as it's appeared at various locations in the past few years: Olympics, Commonwealth Games.
I wonder whether it will be making its way to Rio after Euro2016 has finished?
I believe the "bubble" is owned by TransSport, so is presumably available for anyone to hire.

There are a few bubble studios around - Media Structures are another supplier.

Except BBC Two are only part-funding VD (and presumably don't fund it at all when its News Channel-only because of sports or other scheduling conflicts?), and if the aim is to reduce overall spend then which department/channel's budget it comes out of is irrelevant Rolling News would still be cheaper. It wouldn't surprise me at all if Outside Source is more expensive to make than World News Today, for example, given the additional on-set personnel required and potentially whole other gallery staff.
It may be more expensive to make but if another channel is making it (BBC2 or BBC World) then essentially it's free.

It was, hidden right down the far end of the cemetery under the trees. Blink and you'd miss it!
That probably would explain the reason why it wasn't in Westminster, as it would have needed travel time, build time etc. plus taking it from Westminster with all the other broadcasters might have been complicated.

Got a link? All I can find is information on a horrible minivan.

It's not the most informative site, but here's a link http://www.trans-sport-ltd.co.uk/index.php

Good to know but think the issues are how the two channels would work together as one. That's the problem.
