I'll put it here in lieu of anywhere else more relevant. BBC Parliament are showing a vintage election next Tuesday. Not 2005, though. 1955.

Only three hours though, as presumably that's all that was recorded. 8-11pm.

The restrictions were lifted for the day and night. Yes the coverage continued until around 4am, then restarted at 8am. Remember many more constituencies didn't count until the Friday so there was more to deal with on that day. Most of the overnight counts were done and dusted by 3am. In addition from 1970 until 2005 NI always counted on Friday and the results due to 'the troubles' there were keenly awaited and mulled over greatly.

Indeed. As the 2005 repeat illustrated, it's not three consecutive hours either.

Apologies if this has already been asked, but did BBC Wales have two identical sets for the election coverage - one for S4C and one for BBC One?
Also having had a look at the plans for the new building on the Cardiff Central Square website there doesn't seem to be any TV studios in the new BBC Wales Building.

Indeed, the new building at Cardiff doesn't contain a production studio at all. I assume there will be at least one smaller TV studio for News, but it's possible that they'll go down the route of office accommodation being used for TV production areas as has happened in Salford. And what a shame that would be. I'd be surprised if Cardiff didn't make more of Roath Lock once the move from Llandaff is complete. That said of course, the only regular programme to use the main studio at Llandaff is Crimewatch isn't it?

Do you have a link to the plans?

This report from Wales Today is interesting: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-wales-27781784
And this from Wales Online http://www.walesonline.co.uk/business/bbc-wales-new-headquarters-new-7245486
Not plans as such I know, and if you're after a floor plan I don't think they're in the public domain, though more details might be available if you delve deeply into a council website or some such place. However no plans for a production TV studio in the new building have been mentioned, so it's pretty clear IMO this isn't something they're going to do. Given that for many years C1 was not used for anything other than standing sets for Pobol y Cwm, it's inevitable the BBC aren't interested in providing the space required.
Of course there is already a big shortage of production studios in London, following the closure of TC, Riverside and Teddington, so you would be forgiven for thinking the BBC has missed a trick here - they could have ticked a couple of boxes if they'd kept a production studio in Wales. This is why I suspect they might make more of Roath Lock. All supposition on my part though.
