IT'S TOTALLY THE SHAME.

Only surprise with Wake Up is it took them so long and they seem to axe the Late News every other year. Closing the LA and London bureuas shows how deep these cuts are going though.

There were rumours of Good Morning Australia being revived but can't see that happening in the short term.

If they manage to create some stability within the network and steady the ratings in primetime, I would imagine they'd look at creating a breakfast offering once again to keep people drawn to the channel. How long off that will be is anyone's guess at this point.

Didn't the Early News and Wake Up shows only launch around six months ago? They must be in dire straits for them to only last this long.

Early News & Wake Up launched in November, this is didnt even last longer than Breakfast!

But leaving Studio 10 gives some hope. They need to grow the audience or that will be gone before end of the year.

I know it's now largely irrelivent - but looking at bits of Wake Up and the Manley Beach overlook studio - did that suffer from the same problem that the Daybreak ver 1.0 had in the Winter mornings?
I.e low down, dark and nothing to look at until dawn kicked in - or did the programme start later so didn't have that issue?

It never made it to the winter.

In addition, one of the rumours that have come forward is that Ten will be rerunning American television shows where Wake Up used to be and that the man in charge at Ten is possibly quitting his post. I honestly don't see how Ten can compete with Seven and Nine now as they have not only halved the newsroom and axed the Early, Morning and Late newscasts but they have killed off 8 shows within the last 2+ Years. With that track record, who would give Ten any sort of chance?

Things must be very dire indeed......

What's the bet that News Corp will take them over by year's end, if the reach rule changes go ahead. Ten Eyewitness news by the Herald Sun / Daily Telegraph / Courier Mail etc, anyone?

The news is the one area they have a good reputation in too - especially at 5pm. That may be the bulletin that rates the best but surely they must realise by it being the only bulletin of the day that axing the other bulletins is detrimental to their 5pm show too. I know Seven/Nine don't have late bulletins either but both have services in place to update viewers on the news the next morning.
