I believe Juile was also a permanent presenter on NaT at that time. In 1992 both Alastair Stewart and Fiona jumped ship to presenter the news for the new ITV franchise.
Fiona went to GMTV of course, rather than LNN.
Fiona only stayed 3 months, I wonder where she went next.
Fiona used to present Border Lookaround, before moving to the BBC News Channel. Not sure if she joined Border straight after leaving GMTV after the decision to move away from the 'F Factor' pairing of her and Michael Wilson.
I thought she went to BBC World for a brief period then going onto to Border...
I know Sue Carpenter presented on BBC World during the mid-90s but I'm not sure about Fiona Armstrong.

Sonia Ruseler aswell for the lunchtime news but she also disappeared in 1993 to go to CNN. There was alot of movement in 93.
Im still trying to remember if Carol presented anything in the late 90s outside the weekends? she was the newsreader for The big breakfast.
Yes Carol was a regular on the Lunchtime News during the late 90s. It was usually either Carol or Julia Somerville with Dermot Murnaghan or Nicholas Owen.
Carol Barnes was one of the main hosts of The Channel 4 Daily as well.

If you don't turn up at certain times of the day or channels, people think you have disappeared. ITN / BBC are such big groups you could be anywhere doing bulletins; Mind you Sue is famed for every with Bottom, as she get mentioned a few times.
Here's Carol doing the "Saturday News and Sport" in 1993
And she's still there in 1998 and still with Graham Miller
Two interesting points, one very of its time, the fact that ITV used to do a full classified football results service on the news including all the faffing about with the pools, back in the days before there were millions of ways to get the football results.
Secondly, I always found it strange how with the music used in the earlier 1993 clip they used to talk all across the theme music at the start.

Carol was wonderful and I still think she died too young. Here's ITN's tribute to her, produced by Alastair Stewart

Yip that were you could always seem to catch Carol, at the weekends, I think she worked a Monday or Friday doing the lunchtime news to build up her shift pattens, as said above. Back then ITV had no results service, I think in 1992 that when ITV dropped it and just shot gunned it into the news.
That was a lovely tribute to carol. Its s shame she left in 1999, she did do short stint at the news channel in 2003? Is there any clips?
