Any news on when Al Jazeera is moving into the Shard? I haven't heard anything in a while, and I can't even recall any date being set.

The original plan was to have been middle of last year, they went out to tender for an ISI end of 2012.

Latest I heard was an ISI was finally appointed last Autumn, I think the target is by the end of this year.

I hear they'll be there in a few months. It has been put back a couple of times though

The same can be said for the rebrand of AJ English and Balkans, which to date, has not materialised.

Here's about the only one video I could find of Martine Dennis since she started work at Al Jazeera.

Thought I'd share it here. It feels good to hear her familiar voice again, but sadly not on BBC anymore.

Autumn this year was the last I heard.

On Al Jazeera's titles they have Kuala Lumpur, Doha, London and Washington. I've been wondering whether they are still using the Washington and Kuala Lumpur bureaus? I never seen to see them lately on AJE, are they not going to be updating the titles or something?

Kuala Lumpur was the first to go, and I think that the launch of AJ America was the final nail in the coffin for broadcasts from Washington D.C. - although The Stream is still presented from there.

London is only on about 3 hours a night anyhow, but I assume they're keeping it on because the staff will be moving across to AJUK (if it happens) in the near future. At the very least, the London broadcasts are moving to the Shard.

I assume the titles are still being used because they are planning a new look in the near future and don't see the point in editing the current ones to remove KL and Washington.

DC and KL are also still big bureaux for them. The DC studio is still there, just configured differently, and they also have the studio in the Newseum. I'd say that AJ easily has more programming out of DC now for AJAM than they ever did for AJE.

KL is a different story. They moved out of their old offices in the Petronas Towers completely, though I think the KL bureau serves as some sort of hub for all their Asia coverage. They never dropped the 101 East title, either.

I’ve been watching Al Jazeera English a bit recently, and have been wondering how the channel is funded? I have never seen advertisements other than the channel promos.

It's owned by a multi billionaire who funds it.

It's funded by the Qatari state, which has lots of spare cash lying around thanks to its gas and oil revenues.
