NBC Today

Hi there everyone,

The Today show (NBC) has such a magnificent theme tune. Especially the infamous and bombastic ding-ding-dong at the beginning make this a very beautiful theme. Is it part of something called 'The Mission' (which is also used on NBC Nightly News)?

Could anyone provide this theme music? I searched on the Internet but I cannot find it anywhere.

I'm also curious about the opening tunes from other morning shows in the U.S., like 'Good Morning America' (ABC) and 'The Early Show' (CBS). I wonder how they sound...

There isn't an entire theme tune.

The start of the headlines, the DER, DER, DERRR...... is one track. The vamp is another track. The theme tune is a another track. And the "From NBC News, this is 'Today', with presenter X and Y". And the "Live from Rockerfeller Plaza" is another one...

It is part of "The Mission"...

The Today Theme will change apparently because of the impending arrival of Meredith Vieira.

Well, thank you both very much for your replies in such short notice! A pity that the files on the site onetrickpony provided are not in such high quality, but hey: I hear themes I never heard before.

And Edward: wow, that's all very complex. I recognise certain parts of the whole (current) theme from 'The Mission', yes. But is more available of that piece you uploaded? The whole theme perhaps?
