Mock Testcard

I made a thread about Testcards on the main forum and how I find them eerie. Back in the days of Analouge Sky whenever you channel hoped you'd always get one somewhere then. Can't find that obviously so I mocked this up myself as a sort of trip down memory lane. Complete with that High Pitched whistle that goes right though you.

Very good. The sound clicks a bit, but most people will have turned their sound off before they realise. It hurts.

Why is there a screaming mad-woman in the middle?

Possibly inspired by "if you stare at Test Card F without blinking for long enough, the clown clearly moves its head to look at you", perchance?

You think of all the people watching BBC1 closedown for the night 2am or something in the darkness of the night then 30 seconds after we get the screaming thing.

Probably would be the governments idea to wipe out some of the UK's population by killing them with fright!

Actully It was inspired by what we call 'Screamers' there flash animations where your lead into a false sense of security when suddenly a scary face and loud scream scares you. I just happened to find a page full of testcard images on tv-ark.org and thinking about how I've always found the errie. Then found a few 'real' ones on youtube and the idea of this just poped in my head so I mocked it up in about 5 mintues. No-one's thought it until I did

Seriously tho by the way Ive spotted a mistake on mine. I downloaded the image from tv-ark.org and have now realised that one clearly had the time on it (that moved) so that shows its fake and also the high pitch whistle. I found a 'real' testcard capture complete with it elesewhere on youtube recorded about 4 seconds of it and just looped it over for mine but the 'clicks' every 4 second come out don't they. I'm going to re-make it tho and get it perfect when I get round it too. Watch the space
