I hate topic which are ment to be long running to be sticked. I also dislike how Matrix is patronising everyone.

Do you even no what patronising means? or are you just repeating what someone else said about one of matrix comments in another thread?

I think this whole mock council thing needs to be rethoughtout. Its clearly not working as people can't be bothered or don't have the time. Scrap it.

Is it not clear to you people organising this charade yet? Many of the members here who have been here since 2003 hate the idea and I'm more likely to agree with them than anyone else. The idea stinks, nobody is looking to play along and it's fallen on its face already after less than a week.

Apparently I whirred the idea into action for making a semi-sarcastic remark about Matrix's daft "Approved by the TV Forum Mock Council" tagline, some just don't read between the lines or elipsises. Anyway, if I started it then it's in my best interest to stop it seeing as the only people to accept it as plausible are, lo and behold, Matrix's friends.

Bare facts now kiddies, listen good. Your idea is useless and had little idea put into it and it showed from day 1 hence why I wanted nothing to do with it. It's been ripped apart for being patronising and unneccesary and guess what, it is. Only 5 people I can see are actually interested in it so either take the idea away and don't let it return or take it away and actually commit some grown-up thought to it so those of us with the prior knowledge of what bad ideas are can say "Maybe so, let's see". 3 weeks at least should do, bottom line is get rid of it now .

Thank goodness people are realising that this idea isn't going to work. For starters the whole thing was rushed, with the first 'mock of the week' nominations being made little more than a day after the whole idea was dreamt up.

To be honest I think the mocks forum isn't big enough to have a council judging peoples efforts (and I use that term loosly Razz ). I think sticking to just posting an honest opinion about the mocks works better than having a patronising comment made by someone who thinks their opinions are important. (Sorry if that is a little harsh).

If you really wan't to drum up the quality of mocks in this forum, the best thing to do is run a mock challenge. Set a brief and see what people come up with. Make sure you word it correctly though, theres a tradition that people instantly follow this type of request by 'lets see yours first'.

It's a shame the Musician hasn't so far come back with any of those briefs as thats the sort of thing I think would improve the quality of the mocks made here.

As a forum clique member (apparently), the idea sucks.

Please resign your memberships from the place.

I like the rating system. I think we should try and do the 5 stars thing.

Although TVfreak can you make some "half" stars ie 3 and a half? When reviewing a mock today I wanted one! Thanks if you can.

I already made half stars, but didn't think they were wanted. Here they are:

Yeah, that's a good idea, tvfreak . A good system I feel.

Joel, the idea of a MC may not have gone down well recently, but the Mock section has certainly been injected with life in the past few days so full marks for that!

JamesJH is trolling round using these stars the most. It reminds me of a bartstope style post ranking system to be honest.

Either way, a terrible idea.

I have no problem with there being a useful set of stars but this whole formalised comments system is vile and is dull, clinical and just unpleasant. Although that's the way Charlie and Asa like it of course isn't it.

It's good to see the mocks forum picking up once more, and a few quality mocks appearing on the boards.

As always, there are those that are absolutely rubbish - but I don't think that's a reason to close the thread as sometimes even if the mock is bad, it doesn't mean the idea isn't any good. Just ignore it, and let it drop off!

As one of the original contributers to the mocks forum (and one of those who suggested it in the first place!) I'm not too sure about the "official" marking process - whenever I post I'd rather see comments than just a mark.

Some developments though are interesting. You've launched Mock of the Week, though I'm not too sure how that'll work during the quiet periods.

One thing I have suggested before is a Mock of the Month - but the difference is that each month mockers are given a specific thing to mock (e.g. ITV News, BBC1, Big Brother etc.)

I'd also like to see the return of the Mocks Requests thread - especially if this place gets busy again. It's handy just for putting in ideas, and there isn't anywhere else to put them!

As with all sticky/long running threads though they really need to be replaced every couple of months as they just become part of the furniture only visited by regular contributers to that thread.

You mean something like the B3ta weekly photoshop challenge?
