Not much to say really except I didn't use a safe area because what is the point, it takes to long.

Obviously these "mocks" didn't take you too long. Please don't go any further. They are bland, boring, and effortless.

I am not so keen on those particular mock designs, to be honest. However, I do like the idea of the "brand" - i.e. Separately branded BBC Weekend News.

Good idea.

Dull, boring, bland, and safe areas don't take too long AT ALL. The blue looks too cold for the weekends and it would just make the BBC News brand look inconsistent.

I have taken on board all 4 comments and agree with most of them. I have decided to create new design layouts for BBC Weekend NEWS. However, once again I have ignored all safe screen aspect ratios!!!

All of them are bed, pink/purple! not a good colour to use and circles and squares are not very good in you second post

Eugh! Worse colour scheme, and the rounding looks nasty. Try actually lining things up. Pixel perfect may take a while, but it actually does look good.

Brilliant, you should definately work in broadcasting, where hours and hours of preperation are done for 60 seconds of air time. I believe Aardman may be looking for new employees.

Final point... how many times do people have to ask? Safe areas! Please don't post again until you have read the two stickies at the top of this forum, or you're going to get a real slating.

Just don't bother - Go away and don't come back.

Please don't bother posting on this forum again!

I will continue to improve my idea of BBC Weekend NEWS but i will not use a safe screen becuase I think what is the point and i will refer to a quote used by someone else:

"but it's a *mock*, is it not? it's never going to be seen on a tv, so does it matter?" by Dr Lobster

It's a mock yes, but at the same time your mocking how it would look on TV.
