The TV Room's New Server

Does anyone know the point of The TV Room changing server and possible design?

Nothing seems new, except the layout which I find extremely irritating to use.

What's going on?

Those pages are not bad for a web site produced in Microsoft Frontpage, BTW if the owner would like to reduce the jargon on his HTML pages, he can contact me I will do it for peanuts

I don't really like the new layout used for the sections, I quite liked it when there was some imagery/logos for the latest idents for that section. I find the text too small to be able to easily read it on a 15" monitor in 1024x768 screen res..

There's not much wrong with the newer Frontpage, I prefer the interface and work flow compared to Dreamweaver, and the dreaded, clinical, notepad (lol)

The server change looks like it's been moved entirely over to one host rather than 2. As I recall, some people ISP's weren't getting the site coming up correctly on the second host (Astrohosts), and were making quite frequent rumblings at him over it. That host didn't seem to do anything to fix the problem either.

yes but even with broadband 53k for a simple hompage is very very large.

Well the technicalities and validated code and script is best left in the hands of the programmers, I prefer to stick to the design.

The section pages were changed after people found it difficult to navigate the site content.

Err........ What was the point in this thread.
There is a slight design change and they moved server.

You should have just waited to they put the message up.

The TV Room said on here that ITV News Channel presentation from Feb-04 would be up in August...And here we are in September ???

There are alot of things going on with the site and The TV Room plus, and again I remind you the site is just a hobby for Mike, so cut him some slack, and please dont be too stuck on exact dates for things...

That would be a totally fair comment if only an equal amount of slack was cut for anyone who DARED to complain about the site, or its lack of availablity to users of certain ISPs.

Mike seems incapable of understanding that potential viewers of his site might just ALSO be attempting to view as a hobby; and therefore, get rather hacked off when the only reply to any of their comments is that it's their own fault and that Mike is ALWAYS perfect and NEVER to blame.

Well I can assure you Mike is working on the site every moment he gets. There have been some issues, and they are trying to be sorted out.

There is nothing wrong with justified complaints, but somethings are beyond control, and require more attention than is immediatly possible.
