It was one of those very English, static, series set almost exclusively indoors, like plays, full of wonderful dry quips and dialogue. All set in what I recall was an Oxbridge university setting. The main character was an elderly very erect Etonian type but I distinctively remember it was based around a duo, though I can't recall the second character at all.
