I don't understand how an ident as simple as that can work in America but not here?

..... Apart from the ending, which looks out of date 70's.

I'll be honest, I don't think the second ident looks dated at all, I think it looks great, and in fact the eye logo looks bang up to date too.

The three chimes are very NBC mind!

ATV is no stranger to chimes itself, possibly based on NBC. The logo was certainly inspired by CBS.

I wonder what other former logos are up for grabs???
I'd have asked ITV myself if I'd have known!!!!

I have to say it's not as simple as them just being up for grabs. You may need to prove that you have genuine intentions to use the trademark for the classes you have registered. It's not as simple as registering a domain name to cyber squat.

I do understand the inspiration for ATV logo, which is fine.
But was unsure whether the form-up (second version) would be received by UK audiences. It would certainly be unique.

So in your head did GE buy ATV sometime along the line?

I'm expecting this is a facetious comment in some way but would you care to explain?

I'm assuming it's another reference to NBC.
