Monkey Kingdom (Made in Chelsea) and Olga TV (Paul O'Grady's production company).

Zimple TFI Friday Limited was set up solely for the TFI Friday revival by Evans, the company's only director.

The thing with doing it again as a series is that it wouldn't be the same team. Getting the old gang together for a one off is one thing, getting them for a series is more difficult. Plus you won't find, for example, Danny Baker writing for Nick Grimshaw.

It would be a very different show in terms of tone and humour

It makes me feel there is nothing that feel spontaneous on TV anymore, when I was growing up there was Live & Kicking, House Party, TFI Friday which of course had formats but they seem so less formalic than today's TV. So for me getting TFI Friday back on TV isn't the issue but getting something with that unpredictable, unrehearsed feel back is the issue.

See that's just the thing (as with this 'overrun'), very little on TFI was ever spontaneous, and a thorough rehearsal took place for each show, including the bits that looked off the cuff. It's all about making it look unplanned.

What a lovely celebration! There have been many mentions on twitter to say that this sort of programming should have never gone away. Surely with many programmes moving to platforms such as netflix and on demand services live programming is going to be the big draw for linear TV channels.

There were moments of the programme (Lewis' interview especially) where my attention drifted away for far too long. It also in some places felt far too rehearsed (the Amanda Sayfried interview skit with Ewan Mc. and Shaun Ryder's conversation pausing) but I suppose that they weren't going to risk anything.

The set was incredibly well recreated to give a very similar feel. There were some sound issues where you could hear the background noise too much, but overall it was a brilliant production.

What a damp squid. Chris's heart didn't seem in it when signing off. Maybe it's best for him personally those days are over though.

Grimshaw has ruined the R1 breakfast show and he'd ruin TFI Friday.

Realistically I think if this show was to carry on it would cling on to a mid-30's audience so they would really need to choose someone older than Grimshaw if Chris no longer wanted to carry on doing it.

Nick Grimshaw has not ruined the Radio 1 Breakfast because he has attracted more young people, which if you didn't know was what he was put there to do.

He hasn't though - he has actually lost some of the younger audience as well, but as he's lost many more of the older audience the average age is now younger, but there are less in that demographic listening than there were before.

Absolutely great celebration of when TV used to be good until it turned into a poor mans Top Gear in the last half hour. Just highlights how boring and safe TV is nowadays - TFI Friday was amongst the best but there used to be shows like that across the schedules back in the late 90s. Now there is **** all.

A very good point. Though a lot of things have taken off on Netflix and other on-demand services, the one thing that really hasn't taken off online is live TV. Something which traditional broadcasting is still best at. Sure one day there will be that one successful live online show that will change everything, but until then I think for traditional broadcast stations to keep viewers, they should be trying more shows like TFI Friday. I actually really enjoyed it tonight, which i wasn't expecting.

Scripted ad libs are no bad thing. Ask Eric Morecambe.

I'm calling it ... TFI Friday will return later this year for a full series. Nick Grimshaw may or may not be involved, but Chris Evans definitely will be involved, and the studio will probably be reworked to look even more like the original one than it did tonight

As for Nick Grimshaw's apparent unpopularity ... while I'm not a Radio 1 listener these days. (I'm 40, so I think I'm a bit too old for Radio 1!) and I haven't seen much of his TV work other that an episode of Sweat The Small Stuff, but to me at least he did appear to at least somewhat competant at hosting live TV stuff. Eitherway, however good he is or isn't, if TFI Friday does come back full time, I do think the only role he should have is either for pre-recorded remote segments or the "Wheels of Steel" bit before and after adbreaks.
